Bailey’s Journey: From a Rescue Dog to a Beloved Family Member
When Bailey became part of our family, we had no idea how lucky we were.
A rescue dog from Korea, Bailey’s journey was made possible by Furever
, an organization renowned for successfully placing rescued animals into loving homes
, thanks to their dedicated volunteers and supporters.

The Role of Temporary Fosters
One of the most critical steps in rescuing stray dogs is finding temporary foster homes.
These fosters fill the gap between rescue and adoption, offering love, care, and stability.
For many animals, fosters are lifesavers—literally.
Without them, many dogs in shelters face euthanasia after a short holding period.
Foster homes also prepare dogs for family life, teaching them essential social skills like:
- House training
- Overcoming trauma
- Interacting with children
Bailey was no exception. Before joining our family, Bailey lived with a foster who owned a café in Korea.
This environment helped him learn to interact with people, wait patiently,
and even become accustomed to outdoor bathroom habits.
The Smooth Transition to Family Life
When Bailey arrived in our home, he adjusted almost immediately.
In just two days, he mastered house training
—so much so that all the preparation I had done with potty pads turned out to be unnecessary!
Some of Bailey’s standout qualities include:
- No excessive barking: Quiet and calm at all times.
- Ease with separation: No anxiety when we left; he simply napped until we returned.
- No destructive habits: He ignored plants and food left on the table.
- Great with family: He bonded instantly with our son and slept soundly through the night without issues.
Even car rides and outdoor adventures were a breeze.
Bailey’s foster had clearly done an incredible job, and we reaped the benefits.
A Well-Traveled Companion
Bailey isn’t just a great dog—he’s also well-traveled! From Seoul to California,
and now New Jersey, he has adapted beautifully to every new environment.
As we settle into our third year in New Jersey, Bailey continues to thrive, enjoying everything his new life has to offer.
His journey from a rescue dog to a beloved family member reminds us every day of the importance of organizations like
Furever and the incredible impact of foster care.
Here’s to our wonderful Bailey—our little slice of serendipity! 🐾💕
