A Common Dilemma for Pet Owners
If you have a pet, you’ve probably faced the question at least once:
“What food should I give them?”
When I first adopted Bailey, I didn’t know much about pet nutrition.
Back then, I bought dog food from Target.
The next day, I noticed Bailey’s eyes were extremely watery
—a sign I might have made the wrong choice.
While what you feed your dog is ultimately up to you,
I’d like to share the dog food I’ve been giving Bailey and why I chose it.

Dr. Marty’s Dog Food: My Experience with Switching from Kibble
This was the first dog food I tried after moving away from standard kibble.
Bailey absolutely loves it! Even picky eaters seem to enjoy it
—I’ve personally seen some of the fussiest dogs devour it without hesitation. 😊
Dr. Marty, the founder and a veterinarian,
created this food, and his own dogs lived long, healthy lives.
That gave me an extra sense of trust in the nutritional value of his products.
If you’re looking for a dog food that combines quality ingredients with high palatability,
this might be worth trying!

Key Features of Dr. Marty’s Dog Food
Main Ingredients: Meat, vegetables, and fruits are the primary components, emphasizing a grain-free diet.
Nutrient Preservation: Freeze-drying technology maintains freshness and flavor, avoiding hard-to-digest kibble.
Grain-Free Recipe: Ideal for dogs with grain allergies.
Convenience: Just add water to create a soft, easy-to-eat meal.

My Personal Dog Food Selection Criteria
When choosing food for Bailey, I follow these simple yet essential rules:
Minimal Preservatives
: Prefer UnKibble or freeze-dried options with little to no added preservatives.
Clean Ingredients
: The food must use wholesome, recognizable ingredients without unnecessary fillers or additives.

Bailey’s Reaction to Different Foods
This might sound a little odd, but Bailey has
a very clear way of showing whether a food is good for him or not—his eyes.
If he eats something unhealthy, like a popular brand of kibble from Target,
he’ll have a noticeable buildup of yellow eye gunk the next day.
While he happily eats these foods,
his reaction the next day is enough for me to avoid them entirely.
With both Dr. Marty’s and Spot & Tango, I’ve noticed a huge difference
—Bailey doesn’t have any eye gunk at all.
That gives me peace of mind knowing,
I’m feeding him something that keeps him healthy and comfortable. 😊
